Taxi for Sanderson.

I really feel nervous picking up incoming calls from ‘private number’ but I have to answer them in case the call is important.

So I pick up the phone this afternoon from ‘private number’ and it is a lady from the appointments desk at the medical centre. I completed an MT request to enable me to be driven to attend my medical appointments this coming Thursday. Private number stated MT could not be arranged and is there any reason I can’t drive myself. Well, let me see…..

I have nightmares some worse than others which lead to broken sleep and a very tired puppy the following day. Venlafaxine, medication to help balance my mood, leaves me feeling lethargic. Notwithstanding this, the journey to attend my counscelling sessions are at least a 2 hour drive. Then I have to sit in session reliving the traumas which have lead to the diagnosis of PTSD. These sessions leave me an emotional wreck and completely washed out!! Can anyone tell me why it would not be a good idea to drive?

The end result after calls back and forth is that I have had to rearrange my much needed appointment so I can resolve the MT problem…..

About mitsanuk

I left the RAF in 2015 following 20 years as a frontline paramedic. It has been an amazing career but then found myself suffering because of this. My blog exists as an outlet for me as well as a place for others to read and try to understand the mind of someone with PTSD. Please feel free to make comment on any post and lets raise some discussions on how we can help to end the stigma which surrounds mental illness. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Please follow and share in the hope my experience will help others.
